I did, but I got a bunch of errors regarding cutoff dates, so I had to re-set most if not all (4 or 5 in my case) sources to get rid of the errors. I don’t think that was migration related, because I got similar errors another time. Basically it seems the “Indexing cutoff date” field is broken, but the “Download cutoff date” isn’t. Other than that, it was clear skies, and new edit started pouring in fast.

I’ve switched from Pinchflat to Pinchflat NGX (even though I hate the new theme, bling bling…), now I just need someone to take over YTZero as well, because that was my main replacement for Invidious/Piped that kept breaking, and Pinchflat was only a backup solution for me…

1·6 months agoI just want to put it out there: in some countries, you literally can’t not use the ISP provided modem, and for my needs, the best I can do is put mine behind theirs, but I cannot remove theirs from the equation.
My NUC didn’t cost 75$ when I bought it new back then but can absolutely be found for less now. And it runs 40+ containers as well. I wouldn’t imagine a need for a big rack setup (for me). Potentially a newer NUC someday, but it’s hard to find a good excuse to switch.
Yup, Pushover has been great for me.

Selfhosted@lemmy.world•AFFORDABLE selfhosted nocode relational databases? (à la Baserow/NocoDB, etc.)English
1·6 months agoFor anyone wondering, I went with Baserow in the end, considering that I finally was able to install it locally, and that the limitations I saw (for my use case) were mostly for the cloud offering.
I don’t think it’s a no go, but since I haven’t figured out DNS over HTTPS for my AGH instance, I don’t want to replace her default DNS to another.
That’s what made me install Adguard Home, just so that I could bypass my hairpin DNS issue. There are still things that don’t work and I haven’t found the time to fix those, but for me at least, Immich works the same inside and outside the house! (My gf uses /e/OS and her DNS overrides Adguard Home which is a shame, but that’s in the list of “doesn’t quite work perfectly”)
I changed versions recently to be safe, but the old watchtower was still working when I gave it up. Just because it’s unmaintained doesn’t mean it stops working from one day to the next.
Ouh! I have a checklist of things I need to add/update too, that I never check. Maybe we could mutualize! ;)
The theory is I use Docmost. The reality is I don’t, and I hope my backups are solid.

Selfhosted@lemmy.world•AFFORDABLE selfhosted nocode relational databases? (à la Baserow/NocoDB, etc.)English
1·7 months agoI know SQL and I can pull some faraway memories of PHP to create a web interface (or Python, but I’ve only ever used it for data analysis)
But it’s a far cry between using something off the shelf and developing something from scratch, especially when on company time when it’s not supposed to be your job (and you’ll be told to use the shitty existing tools instead of taking the time necessary to create something custom).
As for Excel, sure it’s an option, but there’s also data conflicts and overwritten version and all those pesky things.

1·7 months agoIt’s not as bad as others, but not having access to the survey view is a downer for usability.
…
Plus the fact that I can’t seem to successfully deploy the v2.1.6 docker image…

5·7 months agoI have no VPS but a home server and Uptime Kuma can’t help me if it’s down. So I just set up healthchecks.io + Pushover via a cron job that runs on the server and I can confirm that it works! Tested yesterday after a citywide blackout 😵💫

1·7 months agoSimply the fact of having 70+ users. There’s also the number of records, but that may be a non issue (for now).

2·7 months agoI was hoping it wouldn’t come to this, especially for advanced search, everything else is quite basic, indeed.
I love the fact that your example of a “small-ish” homelab is way more overpowered than mine. Because my entire 40+ containers homelab runs off of a 13 yo NUC with a 10+ yo HDD and a (new!) SSD plugged into it. I regularly want to replace it by a more recent NUC but… there is not good reason, yet.

1·7 months agoI only set up auto-update since the stable release, but I don’t think I’ve ever had an issue since I set it up 2 years ago. Every time I read the release notes they said “go for it”, and… it worked. I guess trauma holds much longer for those who were there early ;)

Look into snac2 or littlefedi as alternatives for Mastodon if you want to save resources. Littlefedi has a specific use case to run off the grid
